My Camp Review!

By Jack Devon

In early October our Cub Unit went camping overnight at Mount Cotton as part of our Group Activity weekend. I had an amazing experience, so I really want to share it with you.

Saturday morning – Canoeing on the Dam
When we first arrived, I played handball with the other cubs and joeys, as well as playing red light, green light. I had loads of fun when playing tag and l was lucky because l almost fell over, but I recovered my balance, so l didn’t fall. We capsized in the squishy reeds once but got back in the canoe and rowed back to the land. For lunch the Venturers cooked us a yummy sausage sizzle at the boat shed which I thought was wonderfully cooked.

Saturday afternoon – Relay for Life
We had a candlelight ceremony remembering people who died from the horrible disease know as cancer.
Racing down the hill on the go-carts was an amazing experience for me because I have never done it before.
Running around a path on the relay for life course was cool because it was challenging and long. I did 7 laps of the course, but some other cubs did 23 laps!
I won a lot of chocolates at Lob-o-choc, so I thought I was a lob-o-choc champion!!!

Saturday night
We had cheesy pizza for dinner and then we watched Peter Rabbit and ate yummy popcorn in the big den so we could relax after a big long day of hard fun.
Sleeping in the tents with my friends was crazy awesome especially in the morning when we could wake up early so, we could be prepared for our big day of fun ahead!

Sunday morning – Archery and Ziplining

I cooked breakfast with other cubs. The breakfast was cereal and bacon and eggs with toast and we had to wash up our own plates and bowls.
I hit the target more times than missing it and with a little practice I think l could be awesome at archery.
We had so much fun when we went Ziplining, as we landed harshly on the ground and some of us got our feet wet as we went through the dam water.
We had mud cake and fruit for morning tea on the grass by the ziplining dam, it was mouth-watering.

I loved it so much that I want to do it again because it was extra fun!!!
The End!
