Rover Scouts

Rover Scouts opens the door to a world of adventure, excitement, mateship, challenge and achievement!

Rover Scouts is open to all young men and women aged 18 to 25. Anyone can become a Rover Scout – there’s no need to have had any previous involvement with Scouting, or any prior outdoor activities experience.

Rover Scouts are empowered with running their own activities right up to a national level. The Rover Scout motto is a simple one – “Service”. Rovering helps develop leadership abilities and an appreciation of the value of helping other people through service activities, both within Scouting and in the wider community.

Rovers undertake some challenging outdoor activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, sailing, caving, ski-touring, canyoning, four-wheel driving and rock-climbing. This is accompanied by social activities such as balls, bush dances, nights out, rallies, and “Moots” (gatherings of Rover Scouts on a local, national, and sometimes international level) also feature on the program.
